What to Expect During a Nutrition Consultation

We can discuss your pet’s dietary needs during a wellness exam or a different visit. Your animal’s diet is a vital component of their health, but it can be easy to overlook it. We strive to provide you with educational resources so you can optimize how you feed your companion.

Thanks to our in-house diagnostics, we can conveniently perform lab work for your pet when we need to assess specific nutritional needs. During your appointment, we ask you questions about your animal’s current diet, activity level, and behavior.

We may also discuss the following:

  • Diabetes
  • Obesity
  • Kidney or other diseases
  • Allergies
  • Medications

Once we have all the necessary information, we can recommend certain types of foods to promote your pet’s good health. We also discuss what portions are adequate, and any treats and supplements that can benefit your animal. If you need to transition your pet to a new food, our team can also share practical tips.
